Although you could call Shannon a “big city girl,” nothing fills her with more pride than being able to say (and demonstrate through extensive community involvement) that she hails from Lima, Ohio. “Go, Beanie!”

Shannon’s platform of choice and ongoing mission for the past three years is entitled “
T.O.N.E. Our Children: Teaching about Obesity, Nutrition and Exercise.” With every project she initiates and at every appearance she makes, it is her goal to not only educate our children about total health, but also to present the information in fun ways that allow children and adolescents to take charge of their own well being. Coincidentally, our very own First Lady Michelle Obama has adopted this same mission, which inspires Shannon to continue giving back to her community in a meaningful way.

Most recently, Shannon was named 1st runner-up to Miss Ohio 2010. Follow her journey as she dedicates herself to working as the instrument of change that our state, nation and global community needs. She sincerely thanks the city of Lima for embracing every one of her endeavors, and is eternally grateful for the love and support that her family has provided over the years.
