A Wonderful Christmas, And Some Good News, Too!

Christmas 2009 was easily THE BEST EVER, and I'm not talking about the presents that were waiting for me underneath the tree! I had been anticipating spending time with friends and family members that I hadn't seen in far too long.

It's difficult to explain why the smallest things seem to matter most when it comes to favorite Christmas Day memories. A few traditions that always top my list include: cooking with my mom and grandma (even if it means preparing and putting the turkey in the oven at dawn!), sharing and enjoying stories being told around the dining table, and even lounging in the living room—doing nothing but listen to logs crackle in the fireplace.

Here are a couple of Christmas photos from this year:

I hope you and your loved ones not only had a wonderful and relaxing Christmas...but that you also celebrate the fun, fresh start that 2010 will surely bring tomorrow evening!

P.S. VIDEO CLIPS FROM MY CD RELEASE PARTY WILL BE POSTED ON FRIDAY, JANUARY 1ST! :D

I had a fantastic time yet again on the Holly Geaman Noon Show this afternoon! After speaking about a number of exciting things kicking off after the new year, I sang Karen Carpenter's Christmas classic, "Merry Christmas, Darling".

A Great Evening for an Even Greater Cause!

I absolutely must thank the 250+ community and state-wide individuals who attended my CD release party last Friday! It was a fantastic, memorable evening and I could not be more grateful for everyone's love and support! What a way to kick off the Christmas season! :D

Although I have not yet received any photos or video footage from this event, I will share them with you as soon as they come my way!

I did, however, ask my mom to snap a quick picture before I deposited CD earnings from that evening into my new, Chase account for "Yesterday Once More". I am so thrilled to be forwarding proceeds to the Lima City Schools' "Breakfast in the Classroom" initiative!

Tomorrow is sure to be an exciting day; I am having both Miss Ohio 2010 gown fittings and a day of shopping with two of my favorite ladies: my mom and Leslie Norris Townsend! Who knows, maybe I will have more photos to share with you tomorrow! :)

Tune in for more updates in the coming days...

Ciao for now!

Throughout the evening, I met and spent time with several residents and performed a selection of Karen Carpenter songs, as well as "Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas".

And So It Begins...

I promised a reflection on my "Irish experience" in this entry, but I might need to take a bit of a rain check on that! I have been incredibly busy these past two days; so many exciting things are about to happen and I'd like to share them with you :)

First of all! Tune in to WLIO NBC Lima/FOX/ABC/CBS tomorrow at NOON! I'll be making an appearance in order to promote my debut CD "Yesterday Once More". Additionally, I will be extending a community-wide invitation to attend my official CD release party on Friday, December 18th!

Although the event was originally set to take place at The Main Street Bistro in Lima, we received such an overwhelmingly positive response that we had to move to a larger venue!! (As it so happens, a waiting list had been building up over the last four weeks—I can't tell you how excited and grateful I am for my community's tremendous support!)

At any rate, here are the details for Friday, December 18th (and YES, of course, you're invited!):

WHERE?: The City Club at 144 South Main Street (This is a new, beautiful performance space that is connected to The Lima Veterans' Memorial Civic and Convention Center. This is actually where the Lima Chamber of Commerce meets, and it is across the street from Cullen Art Glass as well as The Main Street Bistro. Here is an online map for your convenience.)

WHEN?: Friday, December 18th. An OPEN BUFFET AND BAR provided by The Main Street Bistro will begin at 6:30 PM. I will begin performing at approximately 8:00 PM.

EXTRA DETAILS:
  • Please call to notify the The Main Street Bistro if you will be enjoying their open buffet at the CD release party. This is to ensure that we have enough food for all of our guests! Here is the number to call: (419) 224-0473.
  • Plenty of parking available!
  • Special guest appearances and fun surprises planned throughout the night!
  • A fabulous evening to be shared by all!

I look forward to seeing you there!

P.S. Have a look at my Online Shop..I added three track previews to give you a flavor of my sound and my CD! Enjoy :)

Farewell, Ireland!

I can hardly believe that it's time to end my study abroad experience! Putting it plainly, I have had the time of my life in Ireland for the past three and a half months. I've noticed a great deal of both personal and professional growth in myself, and I look forward to reflecting on all of that AND MORE in my next entry...which I will be writing on my eight hour plane ride home!

Here's a general idea of what I have going on tomorrow:
  • 6:30 AM wake up!
  • Flight from Dublin to Newark
  • Flight from Newark to Columbus
  • Being welcomed home in the warmest of ways!
Check back soon for a study abroad re-cap/reflection, and as always, a sneak peek into all of the exciting things I have coming my way as soon as I get home!!

See you soon on the other side of the Atlantic... :D
